We’re actually taken back, and are super proud to be sharing some incredible news. One Energy has been shortlisted for not one, but two awards at the 2025 UK StartUp Awards!
The UK StartUp Awards were created to spotlight the rapid rise of innovative new businesses across the country. Shortlisted from more than 1,000,000 startups launched in the last twelve months, One Energy is a finalist in both the regional Green StartUp of the Year and Rural StartUp of the Year categories.
To be recognised by such a prestigious national platform so early in our journey is something we’re incredibly proud of. Backed by the team behind the Great British Entrepreneur Awards, and widely regarded as one of the UK’s most credible and respected business accolades, the UK StartUp Awards celebrate the country’s most promising ventures. To even be shortlisted is a real honour, especially considering we’re still in Q1 of our very first year of trading.

The National Final at Ideas Fest
Those successful enough to win the regionals will compete at the UK National StartUp Awards Final, which takes place this September at the incredible Ideas Fest.
Known as the “Glastonbury for Business,” Ideas Fest is the UK’s ultimate gathering for entrepreneurs, disruptors and visionary leaders. Held in a festival-style setting, it blends big ideas, bold thinking, and general all round good vibes, making it far more than just another business event.
Previous speakers have included some of the UK’s most high-profile entrepreneurs, including Steven Bartlett, Simon Squibb, and Daniel Priestley, cementing the event’s reputation as a powerhouse for inspiration, connection, and community.
What’s Next for One Energy?
At One Energy, our mission is clear: to become the UK’s leading one-stop shop for energy-saving advice and services — supporting both domestic and commercial customers.
From free, Government-backed grants to large-scale commercial solar PV projects, we’re combining clear, jargon-free advice, strategic partnerships, and cutting-edge technology to help households and businesses cut energy costs, reduce carbon emissions, and contribute to the UK’s Net Zero goals.
We’ve already formed some powerful partnerships, such as our local collaboration with Burnley FC in the Community, where we work to tackle fuel poverty in Burnley and Pendle.
And we’re only just beginning. We’re investing in smart, custom-built tech and AI-powered tools to make navigating grants and upgrades easier than ever before. Currently in Beta stage, we have some of the UK’s most established service providers testing and feeding back on our platform.
